General / Feedback, Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Future Maps Themes

I voted for Middle East Desert, but the idea with a Far Cry 2 scenary is not that bad. A desert maps with different facettes would be cool. So some ridges mountains with caves, other map areas with sand dunes for more open tank combat and somewhere else an oasis with a little river and jungle. That could be a hell of a map. Maybe I should start to learn how to use the sandbox editor.

Games Planning & Organisation / Planning / Re: Gamesession Sunday Evening 07.00 PM GMT+1

Hi guys. I am back from some holidays and trouble with my PC. My old graphic card went to hell and forced me to buy a new one. My CPU is still kinda bottleneck but everything runs smooth on high setting now. I think this game session will be a nice opportunity to test the new GPU a bit more with Casus Belli and just to get into the mod after a little break. Hope to see you all on sunday. PS: Will you play with v.1.1 or v.1.2?

I just wanted to say thank you to all the guys who managed to join the server. We atleast got like 14 players and I think that's ok. We got some nice battles with some (server crashes) and I hope to see you all soon. Unfortunately I won't have much time the two upcoming months so gaming will be a bit difficult for me, since I have alot of stuff to do for my university exams. Other than that I hope to be able to play from time to time and when v.1.2 comes out, I will try to make it for the release party. CU All

Hi all, I am happy to have a bit more spare time this weekend so lets try to get some people together for a big game session and to bring some new life to the community since everybody seems to be in holyday mood. So when will the party start? Saturday, 9th of June with a start time at 8 pm GMT will be fine since it's prime time for gaming. I will be on the official server a bit earlier and playing until open end. So feel free to join the fun and experience intense fire fights from storming the beach of Island to breathtaking battles on the Snowfields and meatgrinding engagements in the urban environments of the famous Ghost Town. You fill find yourself lost in the deep forests approaching to the Dam and fighting for eather the Freedom Orgazistaion or the Eastern Corp. Visit the Teamspeak server if you like to: IP : 88.191.129.134 Voice port = 9987 And don't forget - Prepare for endless pain

General / Feedback, Suggestions & Ideas / Re: TANKS!!
|
on: May 13, 2012, 11:02:47 PM

Am I the only one who feels that the tanks are quiet underpowered? I stated it in another suggestions thread that the main weapons of the tanks and APC's are too weak. The tanks really need AP shells and HE shells against infantry and soft targets (cars, jeeps ...). Balanced reload time is the thing, that makes it interesting. But on the other hand are the AT weapons (RPG's) too weak against the rear side of armors. But as mentioned earlier by other guys: tanks are infact fearsome and I would like to keep it that way in the game. It just feels rewarding if you sneak up behind such a beast and kill it with C4 If you really would have tried tanking and I did it in a quiet excessive way in the last weeks due to bad performance on the bigger maps, then you would know, that the ammo is limited. The APC has only a few rounds of the big AP ammunition, same goes for the T90 and M1A1. And the blast radius of the APC's normal rounds is quiet laughable. It really shouldn't knock you out - infact it should kill you, if you get hit by such a round. But on the other hand such an APC doesn't shoot HE rounds - so remove the blast at all but make it 1S1K against infanty with direct hit. But huge supression effect would do this type of vehicle a big favor. Finaly the key word for future vehicle updates in upcoming patches are different types of ammo and customizable controlls for helicopters. To tweak the physics would be extremely cool, but I think the engine is a bit limited concerning this. I am really looking forward to these points

Oh, my god. Every game today needs this f*cking quick knive/aimbot knive crap. It's simply to demanding for the players to chose the knive via mousewheel and to execute the knive strike themself. Only interesting thing about Crysis 2/3 and CE3 are the possibilities for modding groups IMO. There are some very interesting projects in production already.

General / Feedback, Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Purchase-system idea
|
on: May 12, 2012, 03:36:24 PM
|
As for the purchase system: I like it as it is. It makes you thinking about your next step before entering the battlefield. As much I would love to see a detailed intventory as in those tactical FPS like Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six - I mean the real Rainbow Six 1-3 and not this arcadic crap like Vegas 1+2 - or S.W.A.T., I know that this will not happen. Maybe in a far future, but this would mean alot of work and I can imagine how busy the devs are already with bringing 1.2 onto the rails. The fact that this purchase system doesn't punish new players is the best point about it. Have you ever asked yourself why all those C.S. 1.6 pro gamers are playing with the AK and the M4. Because they are simply the best weapons in the game and you can grap them from the beginning of a match. In CB it works almost the same way. The best weapon you can take is the G36. The Assault rifles are also damn good but when you can get the Tar21, then take it. It is ofcourse very dependend on your style of playing. I would never take one of those semi auto snipers. Bolt action snipers ftw For the F2000: I remember good the times in the beta, when the medic was a one man army. I always played medic and could own alot of people because the F2000 was very accurate in all stances, and heal myself if under fire. A squad of medics was even more powerful. I can't hit anything with the F2000 anymore if crouching or standing. But as it is now, it is ok for me

General / General Discussion / Re: Interesting Video - Was Dice's Decision on Mod Tools Catastrophic?
|
on: May 11, 2012, 12:44:05 PM
|
Dice will release mod ability once their DLC plan is over. Why would you buy official dlc if you can make your own? obvious...
That's nothing you can judge in general, because wether I buy a DLC/Add-On or game is a matter of the quality and not only whether there are free alternatives. Take BF2 Special Foces for example. This was a hell of a DLC and I would buy it again. All the weapons, maps, factions, tools and what not. At the end DICE would have to create better content and they simply know that. How can a studio, that built a map like Kubra Dam, create such a crap like Op Metro. Just watch a gameplay video and you get the stupidness of this map. Now with the current state of BF3 they simply play Monopoly and there isn't a danger of rushing out stuff. If there were modding teams, they would have to rework their quality controll.

General / General Discussion / Re: thoughts about new game features

I have to butt in here for a second. I think what Aethelwulf mentioned is quiet important and please take this as a friendly advise -> this is for all players: Play fair. I found myself facing the enemy base - mostly on Ghosttown CQ - with my tank or with by normal weapon looking down from a roof. I could have smashed everything spawning in there but I stand back and let them came out. I wasn't in the situation you are talking about, but this Mod is in an quiet early state, so the maps - as beatiful and clever designed as they are - will hopefuly get some improvements concerning the placement of spawns and the cover wich is provided for spawning players. Dolphin mentioned to implement out of bounce areas for the bases in the next patch so that atleast the bases are protected from base and spawnraping. Until that, please behave like adult people and not like these COD kiddies going for every kill. After half a year I simply know where the spawns are, but I hold myself back not to spawnkill the people - infact the objective is more important. And finaly we doen't want to frustrate new players, but make the experience more enjoyable for them. Just my 2 cetns

Cause i did!! ... Wanted to show a lot more and do a more serious video but with servers half empty its hard to show anything as i get killed every 2 seconds. When it stars to get a little more busy we can do some set ups. As it two teams and I direct you what to do as I record 3rd person. Would need Teamspeak though. I think in the evenings at the weekend are qiuet good to record more footage and you won't have to alter anything. I was quiet amazed that we got 20 players without a kickstart during the week. You obvioulsy had just the bad luck to join the fun after the bigger battles. The footage at Dam AAS you recorded, was directly after a battle at Ghosttown CQ with 20 players. And before this we had a great match on the Village with an awesome defense. I think I will join the TS server this weekend just to play with more communication. The CB community is a bit quiet
