I think the point about the different forum languages is not a bad point by Kolz. I am from Germany, but I usualy post in the english section, because I want everybody to be able to read it and take part in the discussion. As far as I understand your point, you are splitting up the community a bit with the different sections. There might be some intersting discussions in the french section, but I am just not able to read them and take part in the discussion - and same goes for the other people who are not able to understand french. I made the experience that french people seem to have problems with english sometimes - please don't take this as an offensive - but in TS and VOIP I made these experience.
But I would like to have a united community where everybody can take part in the development process and the discussions conercning this. Because atm I have the feeling that I miss some intersting points, wich are discussed in the french section.  Wink

I gotta say I agree with you for the same reasons.
I know it may be hard for the french to speak/read english sometimes, but it's a necessary pain for having a united community.

I can't promise I'll do everything mentioned below, but here's what I could possibly do for 1.2:

- Spawn-on-leader under the map bug: already fixed
- UI red dots for ennemies on SDM: OK
- Chat history: OK
- Client-side FOV (incl. option in menu): OK if there's no engine limitation
- Readme file: OK (maybe we'll have a comprensive installation tutorial idk)
- UI "last buy" and "buy all": OK
- Snipers/Supports/Sappers limit : maybe

What I cannot/won't do:
- FP camera in spectator mode (too much work)

Feel free to add feedback here, everybody.

Well I’ve played for a little bit now and it’s hard to criticize because so much of the core gameplay is already so well executed.
Some points may be considered not so important or a priority at this time.
Others, maybe a developers decision on purpose, in which case I understand.

1. I find myself falling off the edges of walls, building etc.. too easily, even when prone trying to look down or aim down at an enemy below me, I feel that I am safely on the edge of the ledge but I always seem to fall off anyway.

2. Improve grenade physics,,, bounce, roll etc..

3. Ability for a medic to revive a teammate.

4. Make climbing up ladders slightly quicker and more easier, as often if I am standing right next to the ladder I can’t climb it unless I step back to find the sweet spot which allows me to interact and climb it.

5. Better notification when you are team switched by auto balance. Often after I get switched I don’t even realize and become confused as to where I am and what the objective is.

6. Remove the remote control device from medic class if it has no purpose.

7. Click or tick sound on commo rose when the cursor is moved over a particular command. i.e. so it gives visual and audio confirmation.

8. Switching fire mode sound and display icon don’t seem to be in sync. If you double tap it fast, u can hear two sounds so u think your back to the starting fire mode but actually the fire mode hasn’t changed back.

9. Every class should be able to use the "watch" out" commo rose command to spot an enemy or tank etc.. and a red dot should show on the minimap for the team.

10. Zoom in a little more when aiming down sight with RPG or AT-4.

11. Command Center: Holding “M” (I think is default, I’ve remapped to a different key so I may have forgotten the default key binding) opens up command center, after you’re done, holding “M” again to close it would be better instead of using your mouse to maneuver to the “close” area on the UI.

12. Command center: right click on map and from a drop down menu choose mortars, etc.

13. Command center: Flag name written under flags.

14. A game is only as strong as its community, I am I favor of one language one community for the web site.

15. Improved webpage, more user friendly i.e. vbulletin

16. Flag names written under flag icons on minimap.

17. Slightly smaller flag icons on minimap.

18. Improved nicer looking icons for the brief case and red and blue doors on Capture the Intelligence mode.

19. Sometimes when I disconnect from a server, my mouse cursor disappears. Probably a problem on my side though.

20. Extend the name of the game, i.e. Casus Belli: The Act of War or  Casus Belli: Battlefield Wars or something similar. If you’re not French/European the current title has little meaning.

*** These are just my ideas. As it is now, it's still an excellent game in my opinion***

Hey Dolph!

2. Cook the nade, then throw it 3 meters ahead of you on the ground. You would expect it to roll more than it actually does. Cook a nade and try to bounce it off a wall into a room for example. You will see what I mean.

6. As a medic, you have two accessories, one a epipen (sringe) and the other a RC device. Toggle the accessory key and you can see your player equip it. Hmmm… after checking again now it’s not happening but it was happening yesterday.

9. Yes pls! if you decide, a “?” on the map I think would be good, if it’s a tank or APC then a blinking icon of the vehicle on the minimap for a few secs would be good to.

15. I find it hard to navigate and find posts on particular subjects among other things.

16. BF2 has about the same size mini map, and had names under the flags on their minimap. Was very useful actually. Google a BF2 vid and have a look at their minimap if you want to get an idea of how it could possibly look.

17. Not a big deal, I know. Would simply give the mini map better proportion I think.

18. Let me have a look around the web to see if something nice pops up.

20. Up to you, but why aftermath when it’s happening right now… Personally as your game is a BF type game, a title that depicts that somehow would be good I think. A title with the word Battlefield I think would be a good option, so people will know what to expect.

    I already held an actual one (w/o the powder) in my hand a couple of years ago, and trust me it's very heavy.
    An actual grenade won't bounce like in CS.

9. The "?" may be there in v1.3 (but not in v1.2), but can I make no promise.

True! Of course. But timing and implementing a skilled grenade throw in FPS's has a hell of a lot of fun factor in FPS 's.

6. You sure you didn't confound with the Sapper's accessories?

Yes, definitively was the medic class and not the sappers repair kit.

Well after searching I couldn’t really find anything, perhaps make them 3D or shiny or flashing such as

 (reminds me of JetSet Willy icons) but perhaps not quite as fast.
Some of the maps like River for example, are so beautiful and life like it just seems to me that the icons ATM look kind of plain and out of place. Although, the brief case icon doesn’t seem bad. Trivial I know, and I’m sure there’s a ton of other stuff to be done; but just a suggestion.

Hell yeah, you don't know how happy I was after reading, that it won't be possible to implement reviving medics  Grin
Atm the medics and their aura are xtremely strong and if you play medic and stick to your squad mates you are kinda ubersoldier. Reviving players would cause squads full of medics who are invincible.

The point with the spotting possibility is interesting. I would let it be as it is, but add the possibilty to purchase binoculars for other classes. Sniper and Recon stay the way as they allready are. But auto spotting via the commorose is not so good. Could you imagine the chatspam. I realy like the purchasing system and to customize your soldier throughout the fight. It is nice atm but a bit more possibilities would be cool and it would add alot more depth. What I heavily support is the addition of crappling hooks, ropes and thermal view as an alternative to the gasmask - and gilly suits  Grin More and different weapons are also wellcome but Dolphin stated that the focus is on other things atm. So I have to be patient  Cheesy

The UI could need some improvements IMO. It would be good to make the kill messages more detailed. Tanks, APC's and the mortars/arty, rockets  have the same icon. Maybe you could add little images for the different weapon systems in the kill messages, so that the players can prepare a bit better for the next spawn. Please add the options for "Attack" and "Defend" in the commander interface for the squadleaders. Atm you just place the red cross and that's it.

Grenades are fine atm, though in some situations I find one next to my feet and I don't get killed - that feels a bit strange. You "shouldn't be there anymore" if a nade explodes below your feet  Grin The physics on the other hands are good and avoid senseless nade spamming. Anyone remember Strike at Karkand?!?!?!  Roll Eyes

On a last note: I tend to use the nigth vision in some situations but it is too brigth and I can't see anything in some situations - when I should be able. Some textures and the water are reflecting quiet strong. Please tone it down a littlebit and it will be fine. And maybe add a bit more contrast.

My impressions after some more playthrough:

- An absolute great mod, feels real & good, both maps & fighting. Professional job.
- Installation: A read-me file please.
- Patch x.x installation: A readme file here as well please.
- Forums: Servers status please.
- Forums: Three different languages. Better to have all of the forums in English only.
- In-Game: Chat history button please.
- In-Game: Disable snipers in some maps. (But: Not at all sure about this matter, as I haven´t played CB enough - it´s more a feeling right now.)
- In-game: Add a first person view camera and slow down the external cameras by a 50% or so. ( For movies)
- Interface: Add a " Buy latest " and " Buy all " button
- Maps: Adjust/balance the level of lightning. Some maps are brighter then others.
- Maps: Fov 70 is a lot and luxury. Better FPS with FOV 50-60
- Maps: A single island map with e_time_of_day_speed 0.x, starting early morning ending late evening
- Maps: An little island/jungle map like the GDCReload maps.
- Environmental sounds need amplification.

I see a lot of progress here, even it´s a bit slow. Good job !  Smiley
