How to install the mod ?

@Casus Belli people!

WHY! I ask again WHY are you NOT making REAL install instructions.

The ones on the website are NOT ENOUGH. They do not mention anything about install folders, MOD folders etc.

They hence NOT COMPLETE!

If you are wondering why more people are not playing this, your install instructions could be a reason.

I do not understand why you are not updating the webpage with the instructions!?

But yep we should add in the instructiosn that you need to create a "Mods" folder and unzip inside.

Hello. At first, sorry for my english, it's not my native langage.

just noticed the game 5 hours ago and thought "hey this seems to be great". i did download crisis wars from the installation instructions and the patch 1.5. i installed crysis wars and the patch, then i installed CB via Desura and it seems to be that the download and installation process will work fine. after that i tried to play the game but crysis wars stopped working just like 2.3 in the FAQ: "2.3. When I run the game through the launcher, I get a black screen and then a "Crysis.exe stopped working" dialog".
the troubleshooting suggests:
"Make sure you installed Casus Belli for Crysis Wars, not for Crysis.
Also, make sure you installed the Crysis Wars patch 1.5 as described on the installation instructions page."
well im quite sure that i've done everything ringht in the installation process-.-
only thing i didnt do was to install gamespy, could this might be the problem?

also a step by step tutorial would be great! one for installing the game via desura and one for the parts thingy...
i would really like to play the game cuz it looks awesome

well i tried a lot of things now but i cant get it to work -.-
theres always the error: "Crysis.exe stopped working"
and i checked multiple times my installation process and i cant get it to work with desura or manually...

please help

The BIG problem with installation is that the "VERSION 1.1 FULL" does not have an installer. It is for Desura. I did not even know what Desura is but found out it installs the mod for you. This is not clear at all on the download page. You should make a FULL version that has an installer...it's that freakin simple. I mean who whats to download two files and then patch?...most are going for the "VERSION 1.1 FULL" one single file to download. It should have been that easy. But if you download "VERSION 1.1 FULL" you are then like WTF are they talking about I don't see an installer. I've seen bad or problematic installations kill great games. This should be a simple fix. It would cut down on half the installation problem question and actually get your game installed on some peoples PCs just making the installer available in the FULL download. AND MARK IT CLEARLY THAT THE VERSION 1.1 FULL REQUIRES DESURA!!!

I mean who whats to download two files and then patch?

That´s the way it works with games these days, can we agree?
In my oppinion, the fact that the devs. offer a patched desura CB v. 1.1 is pure luxury.
It makes a lot of sense to have a 2GB CB basis game and a 100MB patch v.1.1.
Only thing really needed is a readme file in the v. 1.0. Here they already have explained, that a readme is in progress.

no offense to french people but most dont like so write and speak in english.

nevertheless i try to get that stuff working, because i believe that CB is still a great mod.

I installed the mod into the correct directory and also installed the patch to the correct directory. I also have the Crysis Wars Trial patched to 1.5 like it's supposed to be. I still get the "unhandled exception" error that Niko got and the batch file to run Casus Belli does nothing. Running Crysis Wars as an administrator does not get rid of this error either. I really thought that this mod would beat the crap out of BF3 but it can't do that if it's this hard to install! Sure BF3 is not very good and has many problems but installation was definitely not one of those problems!

If this does not work, you will find a file called "Run Casus Belli No-Launcher.bat" in the Casus Belli directory (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\crysis wars\Mods\casusbelli\).

Now this is just embarrassing on your part. I specifically said in my post that neither solution worked. I am quickly losing faith in this mod and its team.

Indeed I misread your post. Yet, skipping lines would have made it easier to read I guess.

Anyway, if running the batch file does not work, that means that you did not install Casus Belli in the right place. I never read anyone complaining about not being able to run CB as long as the mod was installed in the right directory.

So, to make sure everything's OK, please can you check you have the following files paths:

<Crysis Wars Installation Directory>\Bin32\Crysis.exe
<Crysis Wars Installation Directory>\Mods\casusbelli\Launcher.exe

For example, for my Steam version, I have:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\crysis wars\Bin32\Crysis.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\crysis wars\Mods\casusbelli\Launcher.exe


If you do have all the files in the right directories and that it does not work, then send me a PM so that we can share our Skype IDs for a realtime help.
