A tip is to make a step by step tutorial (Download Crysis Wars Trial first, then the patch blabla...), and then, have ONE single download with an .exe file this time, so people doesn't get confused.

This mod really isn't that hard to install! if you've got it on steam, get rid of it!! (it works but is a bitch) Download Crysis wars trial and 1.5 update. Make sure they are installed in C:\programme files(x86\Electronic Arts/Crytek/Crysis Wars
Create a folder called Mods and paste it into the Crysis Wars folder previously mentioned. Install Casus Belli into the Mods folder. Download version 1.1 from Desura. I promise you this wil work if you follow the instructions!

Long time ago i was really into PC, mod etc, looking for some nice stuff scrumbling the internet for infos etc. Now im working hard, have quite free time and it would be cool if,..

can download the file and install it as mentioned, AS AN EXE file... but where is it.
I got a 7.zip folder and no exe.
Sure i tried to load that in the mod folder but no change, the launcher doenst launch the mod properly... crysis wars but no mod.

I dont plan to install desura - not more software if not needed.

you have a zip,

so just create a folder "Mods" in your crysis wars folder and unzip the files inside, not very difficult.

The problem here is it does not say where to copy all the  main game files to, there is no setup file that I can find anywhere to launch Casus-belli
I followed the instructions several times after uninstalling the lot 3 times and can run Crysis wars but says it needs a serial key (also installed the patch) (its the trial version i got from your link)
then installed casus-belli then installed the patch, and can start the launcher fine but has problems thats as far as it will go.
What I can find is a choice where to put the shortcut and as i said earlier NO setup file for casus- belli
help would be appreciated have a lot of clan members that are interested and waiting on me

I don't know, what people are always sturrling that hard to install the mod. And as cader mentioned earlier it isn't that difficult.

I just installed crysis wars trial and then the patch 1.5. Then I created a folder called mods (or I already had it in my installation folder, dk). I had problems with the 1-part download (CRC error ore something similar) so I downloaded the version with the four parts. Then I exctracted it and put the folder called "casus belli" into this mentioned mod folder. Then I downloaded and extracted patch 1.1 for CB. There ou get a folder called casusbelli-1.1 or something like this. Just go into it copy the files and paste it into your already existing casus belli folder in the CW insallation. Ofcourse you have to overwrite some files. Then launch it via the launcher.exe and you are good to go. Only thing you need is to create an gamespy account in the game and enter a random key. Just don't use any key with only one number as 1111-1111 ... or 2222-2222 ...

I don't want to sound that harsh, but you need more work/skills to find this mod than to install it. It is not as easy as with just a exe that finds the right installation path, but if you can read and I think most of the people here can, then it shouldn't be a problem. Besides some problems with different hardware maybe as mentioned in other threads. But when people come here and get offensive and open a thread called utter fail it deserves a big facepalm. This isn't really directed to you Pahkiller, but please make sure you read the instructions carefuly. What I don't get. Why do you need a setup.exe if you already installed the mod? Do you mean launch.exe?

There's a .bat file and a launcher in the <Crysis Wars>/Mods/casusbelli/ folder if it's what you're asking

The reason I said what I did was from the download page it does say run the setup file, I understand what you are saying but the instructions are not that clear,
I did eventually dd work it out after finding in these forums (not in this topic where to copy the files to
there needs to be one place where instructions are as I found there a fair few around and all are slight;ly different
anyway like I said thanks for the info got it going but the game just refuses to load.
but eventually i will work it out.

That FAQ still refers to a non-existent EXE installer that is causing confusion
for those who have never installed mods for Crysis.

This site and forum makes reference to this phantom EXE several times
all of those need to be removed including threads that refer to it
and replaced with updated install instructions.

If there are different versions of the mod floating around, clear instructions for each
need to be provided.

Regardless of how great a mod is, it's doomed to fail or low player counts because of the difficulty
finding out how to install it.

The instructions have to be "dummy proof"
for everyone to follow or the people just say screw it and move on to something else.

I have done all the requested installs and so forth, Every time i try to enter a key it wont accept it , Any ideas ?

This is weird. Are you sure you attemped to connect to the official [no-cd] server?
If yes, are you running CB in 32 or 64 bits?
