first off i want to say that this game is a lot of fun, and works like a charm. However, I have two complaints that can be improved into the game. My first complaint is movement. moving feels like a pain, and feels extremely clunky. He seems to move extremely slow, even while sprinting, and jumping seems to be the hardest. There also seems to be a glitch or possibly implemented, when sprinting and jumping, instead of jumping forward, all momentum seems to be lost, and you just jump without moving. Movement can possibly be more direct and faster make movements smoother. second is servers. While this may not be a complaint, but there seems to be a shortage of servers, and the only one that i can join is the no-cd official server, due to the fact that the other servers check for my cd-key. I also think that there can be more players, but that really cant be fixed.
other than that, GREAT GAME!

I personally feel the movements to he heavy, but good, unlike in most games where you "hover" without momentum.

It feels fine after a few uses.

[For forums to fill, I guess spreading the word is a good way]

To be honest, I really love the movement in Casus Belli. It really couldn't get any better in my opinion.

I guess movements isnt soo much of a problem  Undecided, but does anybody feel like there are times when you press sprint and you dont sprint? you press something, but it doesnt seem to do anything? maybe its just me.
So the only other complaint would be the servers and the lack of them. so far i only see 3 servers on the server list, and only one of them work. they are almost always empty too, making this game currently unplayable.. (unless playing by urself counts). Is it because other servers that other people set up cannot be seen in the in-game server browser, or is it just me?

The official server is down, that's why you cannot connect to any of them.
Those which are greyed out are probably not upgraded to the v1.1 yet.

Also, having servers depends on the size of our community.
The more players play Casus Belli, the more servers you will probably see over time.

If you enjoy Casus Belli, you may want to advertise the mod on the Internet to spread the word.

Why do we need more servers, when all of them are empty for quiet a long time? CB hasn't got a stable playerbase and it is in fact quiet refreshing to see alot of new players. I joined the server today at around 2 pm and played until 6-7 pm without any problems. This is something new and a kind of success, that we don't need organized battles anymore. I can join the server and have fun. Believe me, this wasn't the case in the beta time. Only advantage I would see in more servers is to offer the possiblity to play in different regions of this world. An american player or ppl from asia will always get ****ty pings when they play on the official server.

The movement in CB is one of it's strongest points. Imagine a soldier with his weapon and all other equipment. A soldier doesn't move like in a mainstream shooter. He infact is quiet clunky and jumping is only useful, when getting over obstacles. Other than that a soldier should avoid jumping like a bunny and to try to stay in cover for the sake of his life.  Wink

First lets try to fill up one server and then we can talk about a second or a third one. I think 24 players his the high score until now  Cheesy

About movements, indeed the first times I played, it was tricky to move, to shoot...Then I minimized graphisms, and now it's getting easier and easier to play, though sometimes it remains harsh. Thing is, I'm coming from MW2, where I get used to move really easily, weightless-like. So, I'm not saying one way is better than the other, just that in the mid it's cool. So of course, if there's a way to improve the smoothness and speed of movements, sure it'll be way more convenient!

IMHO the movement can be improved a little bit. If I'm not wrong if you equip the knife the movement is a lot more faster, while using main gun even sprinting is slow. Also deploying a bipod takes ages, it really seems you're moving in slow-mo  Grin

I honestly don't understand all this complaints about movement. It's very good and jumping is not turning you into galloping gazelle like in BF3.
And if you want to move faster choose a recon class or be near him. That's the point of team work and auras.

That was fun!
Also to stay ontopic: Movemnet is fine for me too. Sometimes however, as some already said, it seems hiiting shift to run doesn't immediately take effect but only at second try. No big issue though!

Indeed, there's an acceleration time before you can run at full speed.

+1

the movement in cod and bf-series is way too fast.
as in bf2 the maps were wider the movement felt ok,
but bf3 made me remember back to good old quake/quake2
arena times.

if you have ever served, carried your 5-30kg supplies and had
to sprint.... damn you would remember your own words being too slow Cheesy Wink

imagine:

- you stand in the middle of a street and at about 300yard your opponent appears behind a building running fast from the left side over to the right side behind a building.

two situations:

1) you didnt expect him, get your weapon up, get him into the sight, guess his distance and the rate action, shoot.

=> hitting him is VERY unlikely.

2) you expect him running at a specific distance from any direction to another.

=> as you got your stance prepared its VERY likely you hit him.

both, cod and bf3 fail hard at situation 2 !
easiest way to get this fixed is to decrease the running speed
to the right amount to make the game feel more real and less arcade.

regards

I totally agree.

I like the movement now.

I especially like that we are not yet seeing bunny hoppers! I hate that with a passion!

If it starts in this game I am gone. Not only is it highly unrealistic for physical and shooting physics reasons, it is frustrating beyond explanation.

Actually same goes for the side step shuffle..Hate that too at a lesser degree.
