hi dev's

first time i played cb was in beta, a few months ago. i just played it a few times...
but with the official release, i became a fan of cb.  Cheesy
i would like to see the community growing, 'cause this mod is awsome.
i like it much more then bf3 at the moment and maybe every other shooter.

but now i want to know more about the dev's behind. and i'm sure i'm not alone.

where are you coming from?
how old are you?
how much time did you spent working on cb?
programming is a hobby for you? or also your job?
what kind of software is it you are using?
when did you decide to start programming cb?
questions over questions and i'm sure there'll be more from other cb-players.

this is the first game i'm thinking of the dev's behind.
the community is still small, but all are nice to each other.

so let's rock!  Wink

Most of us are only amateurs, or programmer student, but no professionnal.

I can only speak for me:

I'm 36 old year french man and i started in modding around 2005 on my free hours. I was working on a biology phD meanwhile (so nothing to do with videogames).

I started with the mod "SGLR", a stargate mod for Battlefield 2 where i made most of the maps.

Casus Belli adventure started in 2008 for me, still on free hours, but since end of 2010 i have no job so if a studio would be interested, i won't say no lol.

For me, I am currently 25, I live in Paris, France.
I started to work on Casus Belli in May 2010 as a programmer.

Casus Belli was my MSc project at the EPITECH school from May 2010 to December 2012.
Since then, Casus Belli is no longer my MSc project.

Now I work in a company that does Augmented Reality and I work on Casus Belli during evenings and week-ends Wink

Is that mod still alive? I love BF2 (my main game) since discovering CB.

I worked on CB til the beta release and then took a longer break hehe.

I started with sketchup and did 3d models (buildings) but after a time went from position to position and helped where I could. Last position was sound design, yes yes, weapon sounds suck, but dont worry I gotta rework them completely with help of a friend Smiley .

Anyway, I'm german, but live in the uk atm, though I move back to germany in a couple of weeks and are 21 years old. Game development started as a hobby, but I'm currently work hard on it to make a living of it Cheesy. Its a dream hehe.

Kind Regards

Patrick aka LandsHeer

ps. tomorrow i final will have the client downloaded and join the fights Cheesy

LandsHeer, I wouldn't say the gun sounds suck at all. Room for improvement "maybe", but people who play this game, play for the game play/ team play and maps, not for the ultimate eye candy or perfect sounding guns. I personally couldn't care less for better sounding guns and would prefer bugs and any tweaks fixed first and foremost.

What I don't get is, homefront was ****e and we all paid £40 for it. This game rocks....

I know you don;t own the engine but you should approach crytec and see if you can license this on steam.. it would go big am sure. I myself am doing a quick walk through to try and get more players in. Smiley
