Hello guys,

What do you think of including in Casus Belli a good old game type called "King of the Hill" (KOTH)?
I discovered it on Delta Force and Warrior... that was a long time ago.

For those who don't know about the KOTH game type:

  • two teams struggle to stand within a particular area - e.g. a square, a hill top, a roof, a building etc.
  • the more players of a given team in the area, the more points the team scores over time

So basically, each team will have to find and kill all of the ennemies that are trying to reach the area.

I hope I was clear enough and sorry for my English Smiley

Bon je vais essayer, donc in english the goal is:

- the two teams got to join an area (like a building , the top of a hill or any other designated area)
- more there is teammate in this zone more your team got points (samething for the other team)
- the goal is to kill enemies in the zone and stop them to get back in, until your team reach 500 points for exemple

I hope this is more clear.

Sinon est ce que quelqu'un pourrait faire une petite traduction vite fait, merci.

I voted for it because it doesn't hurt to have another game type. But since the game still lacks some more polish here and there, I think you guys should figure out what should be done first and it might not turn out to be adding a new game mode, which can be done any time later.

I voted for no as for the reasons XDTZ already mentioned as well as I think we already have a kind of this game mode. It´s the mode, where a team needs a 40 frags and enemies are visible as red spots on the small radar map.  Smiley

KOTH often leads to spawn-camping/killing even firing in enemy-spawn. The superior team only covers the spawn-exits...no fun at all...

Like I don't know, random respawn on the map would fix this spawn camping.
Instead of have 2 bases, the teams spawn randomly like in TDM.

I´m not sure, if I´d like this with a random spawn point, because: all of sudden, enemies might apear behind my/your back. Not as realistic as it is now. Still, I´m new to the mod. Anyways, I yet have to see spawn camping. I like it the way it is right now. ^^

I don't know, whether it is possible in Crysis Wars or CB at all, but in FH2 the Bases can not be entered by enemies and are kind of out of bounds zones. The point is that you make it more valuable for a team to hold and stay on the hill. Maybe decrease the ticket drop for the team that holds the flag. Tickets will drop all the time but the team that can hold the flag will stop it for the time they stay in the hill/flag range. The team that reaches zero tickets at first will loose. Ofcourse you can apply this model vise versa. And to place the spawns on clever spots is also important. When you can look from the hill flag into the base spawns, the map will be a fail. You just need different objects for cover and everything will be fine. Overall I like the idea and have faith in the devs. The other maps showed that you are professionals in creating maps.  Wink

Normally in v1.2 the bases should not be accessible by the ennemies.
I guess that some CTI maps might not have such a forbidden area, I don't know.
